less than ten minutes, the Chef himself walked around with appetizers made with salmon and caviar for each guest to try! Now I have been a lot of places, done a whooooole lot of things, but never served these two things personally by the chef! F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. So I went with the Pork Lion which was seasoned like only Louisiana can, topped with some cinnamon baked apples. With all these blends of flavors, it was diabolical to my taste buds!
I had great laughs and good conservations with my friends, and I met some new friends sitting at our table as the Dj was grooving smooth R&B with a touch of Hip Hop blended with some of that juke joint ear candy you only hear south of the Mason Dixon. As we completed our meals, we were offered dessert which was a choice of Raspberry Champagne Cake or a special German Chocolate Cake. The German Chocolate was so moist it’ll make my granny sit down! I flirted with the waiter long enough to get a second piece. This was pretty much the highlight of my weekend, even over the celebrity infused events I attended throughout the weekend at Essence Festival in New Orleans. Now the bar was a little tired with the lack of drink selections, but I was still able to get a Vodka and Cranberry so I bump them up to lazy. Even being VIP at most of the Essence Events, I still spent a pretty penny on food and service in New Orleans, but the greatest night - which was Kool Cuisine Dinner Party, only cost me 25 bucks. Go figure! The atmosphere of Kool Cuisine Dinner Party gives you what a modern day Cotton Club would be like, or even Ray’s Boom Boom Room if it was real.
